The Shubert Performing Arts Center Is New Haven's Crown Jewel

  • are backstage tours available?

    Experience the theater from a new perspective with an informative hour-long backstage tour. Every history or theater enthusiast will enjoy this behind-the-scenes glimpse into the history and workings of a century-old theater. Free tours are offered two times a month, on the first Wednesday and Saturday starting at 11:00 a.m. Groups of 10 or more require pre-registration. Tours are not conducted on major holidays.

    While the Schubert Theater does not maintain its own parking facility, there are numerous parking garages within easy walking distance of the theater. The closest is next door at the Crown Street Garage, with entrances on Crown and College Streets. Numerous other surface lots and metered streetside parking may also be found nearby.
